Seller Guidelines
The goal of X-SPLEX is to be an open and fair system for both sellers, dealers, and end users to find and purchase goods and services. These guidelines are simple and are beneficial to all members.
1. A Sales listing is not allowed to be duplicated (spam). If the item(s) is in one state, it’s not to be duplicated as being in another state or city.
But, if a seller has five used forklifts that are the same model. It is allowed to post a listing for each of the five forklifts as well as a group posting of the five forklifts.
Exceptions: Service providers and freight services can post their services in each state where they do business or travel to. So if a Contractor or Cargo transport company provides services in five states, then they are allowed to post a listing of services in each of those states.
1B. The retail price on a listing must be the sale price of the item; the seller isn't required to meet any price offer by buyers.
Gimmick pricing isn't allowed for sales listings. Put the min. price you would sell your products, or as high as you want, it's up to you. But no bait-and-switch. No listing a $20,000 product that's actually $30,000, No $1 forklifts just to get your ranking at the top. Trying to use such tricks can result in a listing removed and a strike against your account.
The price of the product needs to include the items that are included with it. If it has a battery or not, etc.
2. Photos of used items must be of the actual item(s) being sold. If the product is new, then stock product photos are allowed. We recommend 5~10 photos per listing.
You may choose which photo to be your preview thumbnail image.
Photos should be in landscape 4:3 when possible, that is standard with smartphones and what we use on X-SPLEX.
3. Spamming buyers, especially end-users, with pressure to buy other items or unsolicited information and deals. It is okay to make recommendations within the context of what the buyer is looking for.
4. Sales Items listed are to be available for sale that you have control of. For example, auction items are not allowed.
5. Only items that fit within the categories provided are allowed. Example: Posting a listing as a Box truck, but actually listing a Ford F-150 personal truck or other non-business-related products is not allowed and *WILL* result in suspension of the seller's account. Mistakes are understandable and won't be an issue.
But purposely posting something that doesn't belong on this platform will not be tolerated.
6. Retail price is required for most listings. While a buyer may offer a lower price, it is the seller’s choice to accept those offers or not. Only categories without required pricing: Service Providers, Freight Services, Racking and Structures.
7. Dealer pricing is optional, and only other dealer members can view those prices. For example, End-user and other membership types, such as Service providers, cannot view Dealer pricing.
8. Being abusive, unprofessional, insulting, fraud or any form of scams is not tolerated and can result in your account being suspended without a refund. There is a reporting button on every listing for members to FLAG a listing. This will be anonymous, other than the X-SPLEX staff.
9. When a listed sales item is no longer available, please set that listing to CLOSED. Same for RFX listings, if you have made a choice of a buyer with an RFX, properly close the listing.
10. We recommend that you close a listing (Sold or not) rather than delete the listing.
Your X-SPLEX storefront will show your closed items for your benefit. It creates a history for buyers to see what you have sold in the past, so that they may contact you.
A buyer can STILL open a new message to a closed listing.
11. Unless you specify an expiration date for a sales listing, it will default to the maximum of 365 days. For RFX listing, those will default to the max of 180 days unless specified to expire earlier.
12. Subscribers must be a business that buys and sells logistic equipment or services to end-users. All new subscribers will be vetted.
13. Referral – If a new paid subscriber (Seller) has entered the name or phone # for their referral, X-SPLEX will add 90 days to your subscription account when their account is active.
14. Go to Terminology page for terminology used on X-SPLEX, examples like RFX, RFB.
15. When the RFX poster has chosen which Seller/Subscriber they want to do business with, all Sellers will see the status as SOLD. Only the selected seller will have a notification.
16. Services and Dealers are not allowed to sign up as end-users. The free account is for end-users/buyers. If you have signed up as an end-user, send us a trouble ticket “Account Changes” that you want to change your account to Subscriber. Make sure you have completely fill out all the required fields on your Account Settings page.
